Lack of updates, don’t keep me away!

Well, I get to blame my job on why I haven’t been programming much lately. Of coarse, little addicting games like minecraft, space pirates and zombies, and terraria taken up my free time in which I could be coding instead. But, I think I’m back on coarse now with programming. The Bullet Physics Library that I was doing is probably not going to get finished now as I don’t need to do it when there is somebody else making the same thing over in the TGC community. I rather help/support him if his library stays free. I’m currently coding on a new programming editor for DBPro. This one features a gui editor, iconic programming, and more bells and whistles. That’s all I’ll say about that for now except that when I release it, it will be free and come with full source code. Idea behind that is if it’s cool enough that people like it, mabie it could turn into a community project. Anyways, hopefully I can have something to show sooner then later. But ya know how that goes…

Bullet Physics for DBPro – Beginnings

Of things I’m doing currently, Bullet Physics is one area I need to get done to fulfill my bigger goal. I would like to get this out FREE for DBPro users. It’s at the beginning stage and just want to make sure it works well with DBPro. So, I only have a few basic Bullet Physic commands implemented. My main concern was to get DBPro objects attached to rigidbody physic objects to allow the DBPro objects to position and rotate properly. I got that done, but ofcoarse other problems NATURALLY pop up. I am no longer able to retrieve the DBPro object’s position and there is some kind of culling issue with the DBPro objects. So, it’s not just as simple as applying the rigidbody’s matrix to the DBPro object’s matrix. Other internal DBPro structure’s need to be updated as well. The question is, what?

So if I can just answer the what question, then I’ll able to start pounding out a bunch of Bullet Physic commands for DBPro and get it in your hands as soon as possible! I must get this to work perfectly as humanly possible as my other goal relies on this library’s very existence. Stay tuned…

Moving Forward…

Now I’m back to my next project. It’s a biggie! It’s gonna be hard not to talk about it. I will say that I’m writing a command library along side it and that the library itself will be free. Got ta have free stuff, right? I’ve actually got the foundation of what I need done. I just need to mold all the “parts” into a masterpiece!

Plus, I just noticed an area lacking in the DBPro/DarkGDK command set that I’m very surprised hadn’t really came to fruit yet. People talk about alllll the time. Ofcoarse, it’s something I can also expand on. Yet another library I hope to surprise you with.

So two things I will hopefully reveal to you piece by piece over time… and I gets to work full time on it! I also need to get my PHP, Javascript and SQL up to par. I really want to give you guys a better social community here at this site. I think it would be cool to let people write articles( tutorials? ) about game development that we do. Also, I really want a multi-user blog system going. I found a blog system and had it almost working, but I just couldn’t get it to do what I want. It may be a while before I cant get with that stuff though. At least the download section works good enough! Well, since I’m basically writing this to myself as ExoDev.Com isn’t really know yet by anybody… I won’t have to worry about site details at the moment.

[DONE] XBOX CONTROLLER LIB V1.3

Looks like I’m going to wrap up this library to version 1.3 for Dark Basic Professional and Dark GDK / C++ and finally move on. It’s feature complete. Since this library is for the PC to mainly use the XBox360 gamepads with, wired and wireless gamepads work and only needed by themselfs.

People have problems with attaching an accessory to the wireless gamepad. If your headset doesn’t work, most likely the wireless gamepad is sucking to much usb juice for it to work. The XB0x360 Chatpad will not work for it. Microsoft has not made PC drivers for the chatpad. The XInput.dll only gives you the data from controllers that it see’s connected to the PC. If your wireless gamepad is flipping out on the PC, I can’t do anything about it. You can find a whole glob of wireless gamepad problems by searching for it on google.

The only gray area for this library is with the sound capturing capabilities for use with sending voice over internet while using the headset. I’m not a network programmer so if anybody gives that a try and have problems with it, please let me know on the ExoDev.Com forums. Thanks.

Also, let me know if you use it in a game. I have a gamepad and I want to play your game, maaan! Also, I would like to link to your game so I can help get more people to see it.
